Sounds of Marque Valentine's Day Event

I'm not really big on doing a lot for Valtentine's Day because I feel that you should show your woman how much you love her on a daily basis. I know that was neither here nor there but whatever... Going into the event I was not prepared for what I saw once I walked through the doors of Zodiac. The Sounds Of Marque had reduced the club to standing room only. I'm talking wall to wall packed with couples eating, drinking, and enjoying beautiful music. Throughout the night Marque played his saxophone, along with a live band and a back-up singer, to songs like Musiq's "Beautiful," Michael Jackson's "Human Nature," Drakes's "Find Your Love," and sooo many more hits. He straight jammed the entire night! I am a huge supporter of his movement and I was soooo happy to see that it was standing room only. I was happy to see that so many people, after that show, would be recruited to the team as well!
During intermission there were about four poets to share their work with us. The two below would have to be my favs!

Phat Mack talked about love with a very funny twist. He talked about how confusing relationships can be when you don't have trust and security. How simple things can turn into big things when your spouse is "insecure" I thought he was excellent.

Mr. A.T. Chill surprised me.. I'm not going to lie I thought he was a little boy not even old enough to gain entrance into the venue. Yea, that changed as soon as he opened his mouth! The poem that stood out to me was called "Lesson's In Love." This poem was about a lusty type of love(I'm listening to him on youtube as I type this up lol). A type of love that was at an all time high between the hours of 2-5 am. A love that was more sexual than anything. I loved it! whew He is also the author of "Beginner's Luck" a book of his poetry. Memphis Event: Fall Into Fashion w/ Style Junkie Boutique

Kia Shine is ripping off Single Mothers.. SMH

 
Soooo some parent lives under a rock and actually thought children would be really excited to have Kia Shine perform at her child's Sweet 16 and hired him to do a 20 minute show. First I would like to blame the mother for even thinking he is relevant right now. Second, I know the budget was 1,000 but she could have at least gotten someone who relates to children like Skool Boy, Cool Courtney, Skewby, and some of these other Memphis Internet sensations #imjussaying. Anyway his ass was hella late (knowing it was a damn Sweet 16) how long did he think the kids would be there? He should be happy anyone is checking for his ass in the 1st place but he had to ruin this child's birthday? For my nieces 13th bday I had EP come thru he didn't charge me and was the children were sooo excited to see him same thing with Skool Boy. Read the quotes this no hit wonder gave to news channel 3:
The rapper admits he was late, but places blame on Allen.

"Her mother had the opportunity, to say 'Hey Shine, if you're not going to be here at 9, 9:30, 10 or whatever, then just don't come.' And then fine, I wouldn't have come and her money would have been refunded back to her completely without any issues," Shine said.

Since he performed -- even though it was less than 20 minutes -- he says, a full refund is out of the question.

"It's just like going to a restaurant and saying, hey, eating a sandwich, eating a sandwich or whatever, and waiting to get to the last bite and saying, 'Hey, I want to take this sandwich back, I don't like it.' And you expect a full refund? C'mon, that's not how it works!" Shine said.

But Allen is out money, and her daughter is out of a special memory.

"It's that one time. Birthday parties, you know, you're only 16 one time," she said.

Kia Shine told the WREG On Your Side Investigators he is willing to refund the family $500. Victoria Allen says that's not good enough and she plans to take the matter to court.
Damn Shine it's that bad you taking money from hard working mothers? I want to know why she even considered you in the first place.. That's very bad business especially for a struggling artist such as your self. Ugh I wouldn't hire his ass for shit. It's no excuse! He knew it was for a child why would he think 11:45 was an appropriate time to arrive? Fuck outta here dude.. Memphis artist for ya I guess. No professionalism at all.

OMG Memphis Man sentenced to life for stealing bras...

Omg I missed this on the news. So a tranny prostitute went to Southaven to steal clothes from a Khol's so support his job as a prostitute, but he gets caught and sentenced to life inn prison! Harsh right? Well this was his 18th arrest and in Mississippi they can combine felonies from other states to determine how long you will do in jail. Geeeeesssshhh! I really want to know who was soliciting this man because he looks a mess!! Memphis we have to do better...
