New Video: Yo Gotti "We Can Get It On"

It's finally here!! Yo Gotti dropped his video yesterday for his hit single "We Can Get It On" to rave reviews! I saw the video and, like T.I's "Whatever Yo Like," I kept watching it over and over again. The video was shot by Gabriel Hart an up and coming film director. I can say that since he started directing Gotti's videos he has given them a very different visual. This video, to me, is his best to date. It's certified for the top spot on video countdowns in the future. The storyline, the choice of lead actress, and the song are sure to take this record to even greater heights. Mark My Words. Check out some more stills from the video and the official video below.

New Music: Yo Gotti "On My Grizzly"

Soooo yesterday I attended a private listening session for Yo Gotii and "On My Grizzly" was one of the many records he played for his guest. It was perfect considering the Grizzlies were playing Game 5 of the playoffs yesterday. The energy in that room was crazy! At one point I started to think the Grizz could feel our energy in that room and the energy in this song and were gonna end it lastnight. Ok enough talk take a listen for yourself! SN: Yo Gotti [layed nothing but #qualitystreetmusic yesterday and it's gonna be a crazy summer!

You can take a man out the hood but you can't take the hood out the man! Gotti and his crew went straight North Memphis and had some good ole fashioned fun.. I love it!

Yo Gotti Interview with MTV UK

The self proclaimed "King of Memphis" recently sat down with MTV UK to talk about his music, movement, and life.
Check out a few excerpts from the interview:
The Wrap Up: This is your huge introduction to Europe but we want to know first, if we were coming from London to Memphis, what could we expect?

Yo Gotti: On touring s**t, you go downtown Beale Street. If you’re coming to where I’m from, you’re coming to North Memphis. You’re coming to the hood!

TWU: What’s your least favourite question and how do you go about answering it?

Yo Gotti: Definitely the Three Six Mafia questions. I understand in most interviews you have to get the information, but I don’t ever not answer questions in my interviews or tell them what they can’t ask me, because I want it to be real.

TWU: So what’s the status on the Three Six Mafia situation?

Yo Gotti: I think they’ve accomplished a lot of things. A lot of people think we’re beefing, but we’re not beefing, we never were beefing. I just spoke on things that I didn’t like about the situation. What everybody hears me say is exactly what it was. It was never like no beef, or we’re riding around looking for each other.

TWU: How did the whole ‘Cocaine Muzik’ movement start?

Yo Gotti: ‘Cocaine Muzik’ means that the music is as addictive as cocaine itself. ‘Cocaine Muzik’ started off as being just one mixtape, but it connected to the streets so crazy until we had to make it a mixtape series

TWU: Through the ups and downs of the industry and transitions that you have made, what keeps you motivated?

Yo Gotti: Freedom keeps me motivated, I want to stay out of jail. Where I’m from, I see my homeboys go to jail. I still talk to them and send them money every month. So I know we could be changing places at any given time. My freedom, my brother’s freedom and the people around me who work with me that don’t have to do anything negative because they work with me, we’re just trying to stay free.

TWU: What would you say is your proudest moment thus far?

Yo Gotti: The proudest thing for me; is the ability to take care of my family. They don't want for nothing.

I'm sure that Three six question is aggravating! Just like the whole Chris Brown question is for Rihanna.. But you can read the full interview here

This Breaks My Heart... Yo Gotti Arrest Warrant Issued

Ugh! Ugh! Barchies!!!! Yall gotta know I'm hurt like Gotti is my blood or sumin smh Over the weekend an arrest warrant was issued for Yo Gotti, real name Mario Mims, in connection with the shooting at Level II on November 29, 2010. OG Boo Dirty is also wanted along with 11 other people.
From New Channel 3:
A police affidavit states that Lance Taylor, a.k.a. OG Boo Dirty, and Mario Mims, a.k.a. Yo Gotti, "were involved in a verbal altercation."

A third man got involved, and Boo Dirty allegedly punched him. A fight ensued, resulting in six people shot.

Three were struck in the buttocks, one in the wrist and one in the shoulder, according to the affidavit. The sixth victim was an off-duty security guard, who was standing about 40 yards from the melee.

Neither Yo Gotti nor OG Boo Dirty is in custody, as of Saturday night.

Yo Gotti's lawyer, Art Horne, said that his client is out of town.

"He just wanted his fans and the public to know that...he doesn't condone that type of behavior, and that again, he plans to deal with the charges that have been filed against him," Horne said.

Horne added, "Once he comes back and deals with the allegations, I think his name will be cleared."

Boo Dirty's lawyer, Harold Durham, told News Channel 3 he had spoken with his client after the fight happened, but did not go into much detail. He was unaware of the arrest warrant out for his client.

Eleven warrants were issued on Friday, and by Saturday night, three men involved were in custody on charges of aggravated riot. They are Vernon McClendon, Kenneth Mason, and Howard Greer

Ok, about 3 months ago when I first heard about this "beef" with Yo Gotti I really prayed it would never directly come to him. I say directly meaning that he would be forced to deal with this. He's soooo much bigger than these local rappers. They used the oldest trick in the book and dissed someone they knew would bring them attention.
Before yall start this "she's a groupie," "She hasn't listened to their music," "she hasn't heard their side of the story" ish let me say I have. I have heard their music(I'm not impressed nor am I a fan) and I also watched(yes I sat down and watched this madness)an interview with OG Boo Dirty and King Star( I think that's his name)and heard what supposedly started this beef. It's crazy! In a city where some of the world's biggest names have come from one would think artist would work together instead of trying to bring each other down. I wish I could find that interview. Basically it stated that they were mad because Gotti didn't speak to them or some ish. Whatever the case may be these guys have taken this "beef" to another level. Life is too short. I thank God people were only hurt and not killed that night after the club. I can bet looking back these young men are thinking it wasn't worth it.
I'm a very big supporter of Gotti and I hope this is a wake up call for him. I hope he understands how much he has going on in his life. Anywho I wasn't there to choose a side in who was right or wrong that night at the club but I pray a positive comes out of all this negativity.
Yo Gotii melbarchie.com loves you and your music and were hoping for the best. #salute

Yo Gotti at DJ Lil Larry's Blackout Ball

As a promotion for Yo Gotti's upcoming album "Live From The Kitchen" due in stores December 21st. Yo Gotti, PoloGrounds, and thisis50.com have teamed up to do a webisode series to give fans the "real" side of Yo Gotti. The series will follow Yo Gotti as he does shows, hits the studio, shops, and lives his every day life. Gotti and his team turned Larry's BlackOut Ball into an All White Party!

Yes he had the All White Fleet parked out front. Seeing Gotti hitting them push-ups explains why he looks like he's been getting big (muscular) lately. I know yall have noticed his shirts being more n more fitted.. I'm sure he's still eating good but just working it off huh? Funniest part had to be Lucky talking about them expensive haircuts.

New Video- Yo Gotti ft. Zed Zilla "It's On"

This is one of the singles from the Cocaine Muzik 5 mixtape that supposed to drop tomorrow.. I'm not 100% sure on that but hopefully this won't be a Cocaine Muzik 4.5 situation and it taes a year before it drops. I'm a huge fan so I'm excited for the mixtape and the album. I like how he took advantage of being in D.C.. That flashback of the "Cocaine Muzi" series thus far was cute

New Video: Yo Gotti "Make It Work"

This has got to be one of my fav songs off the 4.5 mixtape! I heard the video was gonna be sumin people weren't expecting ( A strip club themed video) but dammit this isn't really what I expected..*melshurg* Now don't get me wrong I enjoyed some of the scenes especially the ending in the shake hahahahahahahaha but that neither here nor there. That chick in that cream dress n the green bad than a mutha but that random has blonde was not what's up. Anywho this is my muthaf'n song and I'm happy they threw the strip club scene in being this is a song catered to skrippers! What yall think about it? O and that random ass blonde hooker chile... But it all goes with the song "Make It Work" People!

New Video- Yo Gotti "Look In The Mirror"

Ok I still don't see the good in a gangsta rapper as young as Lil Peanut but I guess I get the concept of having him in the video. Like it or not Lil Peanut wants to be like Yo Gotti one day so when he looks in the mirror that's what he sees. I actually like the video :p Gotti is on a roll right? DUH!

Is this the future of our children?

After watching this behind the scenes I'm convinced that parents would rather have their kids on stage doing "gangsta rap" to make them a dollar or two than have them in school trying to educate themselves. Now I may sound a bit stereotypical but look at this little boy in the video. He goes by the name "Lil Peanut" he appears to be about 5 or 6 years old. This child is quoting Yo Gotti lyrics better than me n hell I'm a big fan and a grown woman. At what point is it ok to have your child involved in "gangsta rap?" I can't see this little boy relating to one sentence in this song yet his parents feel that it is ok to have him in this video acing the way he is? I bet they fall out laughing when he acts like this. They think it's cute. I'll shut my black azz up if he is that exceptional student that just happens to love rap music. Well maybe I'd shut my mouth. My four year old is a fan of all music because I listen to all types of music(not to say that that is right), but I'd be dammed if I have her around here talking like a "gangsta rapper," ugh the entire mannerism of this young man bothers me. I really hope his parents research the statistics of rappers and the money some of them actually make and change their minds on this... Or look at Bow Wow and how he struggles to get away from being a child rap star to an adult rap star. Ugh at least have the young man around something a little more PG13. #IMJUSTSAYING
