Justin Dior "Prince of New York" Sweet 16

So Diddy threw his oldest son, Justin, the Sweet 16 of all Sweet 16's this past weekend. I looked at these pics and thought "Damn Diddy!" He did it up for Jusin(his mom is stylist Misa Hylton). The event was fit for a Prince. Guest included Lil Kim, Jim Jones, Heavy D, Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj (who was his date), Juelz Santana, Teyanna Taylor, and Diggy, to name a few. Some say Diddy does too much when it comes to his children, but I say if you got it why not spend it on your children? Afterall, he has worked hard for his money!
Check out the pics:

WTF IS WRONG WIT HEIDI?!

Heidi in 2006
So if you are a fan of MTV's The Hills then you know 23 year old Heidi Montag. Heidi is a reality show star who some would say let fame get the best of her. A couple of years ago Heidi had plastic surgery done on her nose and her breast. This past November she underwent 10 procedures in just one day on her search for "perfection." She is hoping to launch a pop career, which some may say is the reason she has gotten so much done to her body. What type of example is Heidi setting for the million of children that watch her show? I personally like the old Heidi. Now she's looks scary. Her face looks like it hurts to even blink and eye. If she likes it then I guess i love it?! People be happy with who God made you and what God gave you! Just think about how much more surgery she will have to have in order to maintain her "new" look. SMH

Heidi Montag after her 10 surgeries
Heidi says, "I’m not addicted. If I were addicted, I would have had 10 plastic surgeries. I really had 2 different surgeries. I had one three years ago, and one that I had several procedures done, weeks ago. If you’re addicted, you have to do it all the time."

Marque Boyd- Saxophonist

So I have decided to feature different artist from Memphis on the site as often as possible! Memphis has so much to offer musically. I just wish we could come together as one instead of fighting and putting one above the other. I will feature no specific genre of music. I am showcasing all that Memphis has to offer! Let's Go Memphis!

My first feature is a saxophonist by the name of Marque Boyd. Marque is a born and raised Memphian. Marque cites his style of music to his exposure of gospel music at an early age. He has been playing the saxophone since he was 5 years old. If you are a jazz fan this is the man. Marque's music is very soulful and at first listen speaks to the soul!. Marque can be found at Safari on Friday Nights speaking to the jazz lovers of the city. Enjoy!

Wacka Flocka Shot

Wacka Flocka was shot at an Atlanta gas station earlier today. No word on what happened before the shooting. He was supposedly shot in the arm and not the chest like some are saying.. All in all get better Wacka! Im guessing someone tried to steal his chain?! Ugh when will the senseless violence end? It's 2010 people! The begining of a new era

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

As we prepare to shop, party, rest, or whatever it is you may be doing this weekend, let's take the time to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and all he lived and died for. Dr. King fought for so many of the things that we take for granted. Going to school, being able to buy a nice house, being able to start our own business, and being able to have the money we foolishly spend "makin it rain" in the club are just a few of the things Dr. King died for. Dr. King helped with the Montgomery Bus Boycott, founding the SCLC, and numerous other rallies and campaigns all in the name of civil rights for all. Dr. King organized the 1963 March on Washington, where King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech. There, he raised public consciousness of the civil rights. He came to Memphis in 1968 to support the black sanitary public works employees who had been on strike since March 12 for higher wages and better treatment. In one incident, black street repairmen received pay for two hours when they were sent home because of bad weather, but white employees were paid for the full day. Dr. King was murdered in front of room 306 at the Lorraine Motel in our hometown of Memphis, TN April 4, 1968. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was established as a U.S. national holiday in 1986

EXCERPT FROM "I've Been To The Mountaintop"
And then I got to Memphis. And some began to say the threats, or talk about the threats that were out. What would happen to me from some of our sick white brothers? Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.

I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH

MEMPHIS CARES

We have seen and heard the helpless cries of men, women, and children that have been displaced as a result of one of the biggest earthquakes to ever shake the country of Haiti. Over three million have been displaced and hundreds of thousands are reportedly dead. It’s time for the city of Memphis to step up and do our part. Setting The Pace/Hunter Promotions would like to request your assistance with our Memphis Cares Project. Memphis Cares is a project that will help send supplies to the millions of victims affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Our goal is to collect 2500 health kits containing: 1 bath towel, 1 washcloth, 1 bar of soap, 1 tooth brush, 1 tube of tooth paste, 1 comb, 1 brush, and 1 stick of deodorant. The health kits are our “main focus” however we are also accepting bottled water, clothes, and shoes. We are requesting that you help us in reaching our goal. Every bit will help these victims. Spread the word through Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, and word of mouth. It is our prayer that we reach and go beyond our goal of 2500. The items can be brought to 8001 Centerview Parkway #205 Cordova, TN 38018. If you have any questions feel free to call me.

Thank you,

Mystical Released From Prison

Yall remember Mystikal fron Mater P's No Limit Squad? Well he has been released from jail after serving six years for extortion and sexual battery . He was arrested in 2004 after being accused of forcing his hair stylist to perform sexual acts on him after finding out that she was involved in $80,000 in checks that had been stolen.

In an interview with New Orleans Q93 earlier today he says “Wait til I shake this world up now! I want reparations! Six Years off the scene for most rappers it’ll be over with. It’s about to be the beginning for me!!! “.

I am slightly excited yall! I liked him!

Hell in Haiti - Magnitude 7 Earthquake rocks the Haitians

I would first like to send my thoughts and prayers to the people of Haiti. I would like for everyone reading this to tell God thank you for all that you have at this moment! The necessities of the smallest kind are like gold to these people. I have looked at the devastating pictures and tears were brought to my eyes. A category 7 earthquake has shaken the already poverty stricken country. I would like for everyone to think of something you can do to help these people. I am hearing reports of nearly 3 million people displaced and hundreds of thousands that are dead. Again take a moment and tell God Thank You!
IF YOU HAVE ANY RELATIVES IN HAITI CALL 18884074747 TO CHECK ON THEM
The quake, which happened shortly before 5 p.m., was followed by at least 18 aftershocks, averaging a magnitude of 5.0, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. This natural disaster is the worst the country has seen in 200 years.

As we all know Wyclef Jean is from Haiti and he released a statement about the devastating earthquake:

“Haiti today faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced. The magnitude 7.0 earthquake–and several very strong aftershocks–struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince. I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now. President Obama has already said that the U.S. stands ‘ready to assist’ the Haitian people. The U.S. Military is the only group trained and prepared to offer that assistance immediately. They must do so as soon as possible. The international community must also rise to the occasion and help the Haitian people in every way possible.”

An ardent supporter of his native land, Jean founded Yele Haiti in 2004, a grassroots organization that promotes change with educations, arts and sports. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who joined Jean in Yele’s first official anniversary celebration in Haiti in 2006, added in a statement: “We are devastated by the news from Haiti. We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter.”

To lend your support, text “Yele” to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be charged to your cell phone bill), or you can visit Yele.org and click on DONATE.

Take a look at some of these pictures that are most def worth a thousand words.
